Pam Dennen was a veteran teacher in private schools, used to helping children of all abilities. It was her move to the public school setting, however, that really highlighted the scarcity of useful visual materials for the abundance of special needs students in her classrooms. It was this urgent need that motivated her to create a universal resource for parents, therapists and teachers. Using the concept of social stories, originally created by Dr. Carol Grey, she expanded the idea to incorporate video-modeling tools that could quickly create a story for any number of life situations. As her ideas took shape, it became obvious that to be the best teacher she could be, Pam needed to come out of the classroom and utilize current online technology to offer video-modeling, stories, and picture packs that would be affordable and easily accessible to anybody with a computer. And so, on March 1, 2011, Pam (along with a wonderful team of like-minded folks) launched www.SpectrumKeys.com.
