Kayoko

Kayoko, from Los Angeles, has been directing and producing documentaries for NHK in Japan for over twenty years. Her programs include “First They Killed My Father, ” a documentary about a Cambodian survivor of the Pol Pot regime; International Emmy nominated “Jyakuchu: Magical Artist of Edo”; “Stolen Vermeer”; “Art of Aging”; “Global Warming”; “Pandemic Flu”; and “Class Action Against Japanese Petrochemical Corporation”. Before moving to the USA in 1992, Kayoko was a producer/director for NHK, for prime time current affairs and documentaries for seven years and cultural attaché at the Japanese Embassy in London for two years. Her passion for documentary filmmaking is rooted in the perspective gained from years of living abroad. Kayoko co-founded “Yoga Gives Back” in 2007, inspired by Nobel Peace Prize Recipient Dr Muhammad Yunus. Yoga Gives Back’ mission is to invite Western Yoga Community together to help alleviate poverty through micro-financing in India, where Yoga is from. Guest Website: www.yogagivesback.org
