Ron B. Minson, M.D. received his medical degree from UCLA School of Medicine and is board-certified in Psychiatry and Neurology. In 1990, Dr. Minson learned the effectiveness of sound therapy after the successful treatment of his own daughter for severe dyslexia and depression. Dr. Minson studied a number of sound therapy techniques before developing Dynamic Listening Systems (DLS), which he integrated into his psychiatric practice. In 2006, he co-founded Sensory Therapies and Research (STAR) Center, with Kate O’Brien Minson and Lucy Jane Miller, PhD, OTR. The clinic’s success in helping those with learning, attention and sensory integration challenges has garnered national media attention, including coverage by ABC’s Today Show and CBS’ The Early Show (see www.starcenter.us). Dr. Minson currently practices psychiatry in Denver, CO, and trains professionals for Integrated Listening Systems (iLs), a company which combines an auditory program with visual and movement exercises.
